Terms of Use

Who we are
Conscioushood is run by Conscioushood Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17362523, with its registered office at 24 Grafton Road, Office 3, Worthing, West Sussex, England, BN11 1QP . In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person using the app.
Agreeing to these terms
By using Conscioushood you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of this agreement.
Who can use Conscioushood
You must be 18 or over. The app is not made for children and we do not knowingly let anyone under 18 hold an account.
An adult can create a profile for a child under their own account. If you do that, you remain responsible for that profile and for everything done through it, and you confirm you are the child's parent or legal guardian. A child profile cannot post to the Witnessing Wall or join a Practice Circle.
Your account
You can practise without an account. In that case your practice is held only on your phone: if you delete the app, lose the device, or reset it, that practice is gone and we cannot recover it, because we never had it. Creating an account is what makes your record survive the device.
If you do create an account, give an email address you can reach, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at info@conscioushood.com if you think someone else has got into your account. Please keep to one account per person.
What Conscioushood is, and what it is not
Conscioushood is a practice and an education. It offers reflective prompts, breathing and grounding pauses, a self-assessment, and writing about character drawn from philosophy, world religions and indigenous traditions.
It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. The Baseline assessment is a self-reflection tool, not a diagnosis, and its scores mean nothing clinically. The guided pauses are simple settling exercises, not a treatment for anything. Nothing in the app is written for a person in crisis.
If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, please stop reading this and contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline. In the UK you can call 999, or Samaritans free on 116 123, at any hour.
The community
Wisdom Threads, the Witnessing Wall and Practice Circles exist so that people practising alone can see they are not the only one. They work because people write honestly, and they only stay usable if everyone keeps to a few rules.
Do not post anything that harasses, threatens, demeans or incites hatred against another person or group. Do not post sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal. Do not post someone else's private information, or write as though you were someone else. Do not advertise, spam, or recruit. Do not use the community to give medical, legal or financial advice to strangers.
Know which surface carries your name before you post. Wisdom Thread contributions appear without any name. Witnessing Wall contributions appear with your display name, to everyone. Practice Circle sentences appear with your display name, to the members of your circle. The Privacy Policy sets this out in full.
Posts cannot be edited or taken back once you submit them. Contributions to the Witnessing Wall are read by a moderator before anyone else sees them. We may hold, hide or remove anything posted to a community surface, and we may suspend or close an account that keeps breaking these rules.
If you see something that breaks these rules, email info@conscioushood.com with enough detail to find it. We will look at every report and act where we should.
What you write stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you write. By posting to a community surface you give us permission to store it, show it to the people that surface is meant for, and moderate it, for as long as you leave it there. That permission ends when the content is removed or your account is deleted. You confirm that what you post is yours to post.
We do not use what you write to train machine learning models, and we do not license it to anyone else.
What we own
The Alphabet of Character, the ideograms, the narration, the prompts, the assessment, the written content, the software, and the Conscioushood name and branding belong to us or are licensed to us. You may use them through the app for your own personal, non-commercial practice, and that is the whole of the permission we give. Do not copy, scrape, republish, resell or adapt them, and do not use them to train a machine learning model.
Subscriptions and payments
Conscioushood is free to use at the time this version takes effect. This section describes how paid features would work if and when we offer them, and has no effect until we do.
Any purchase or subscription is billed through the App Store or Google Play, under that store's rules and using the payment details you hold with them. We never see your card.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel it. Cancel through your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its policy, not by us. If we change a price, we will tell you before the change applies to you, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue.
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a digital purchase. That right ends once we start supplying the content, which happens as soon as the purchase completes, and by buying you ask us to start straight away and accept that the 14-day right ends at that point. None of this affects your statutory rights if something we sell you is faulty or not as described.
Using the app properly
Do not try to break, overload, or get around the security of the app or our systems. Do not decompile or reverse engineer it, except where the law says you may. Do not use bots, scripts or scrapers against it. Do not use the app for anything unlawful, or to build a competing product from our content.
Availability, changes and updates
We will keep the app running as well as we reasonably can, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering the service. If we stop, we will give reasonable notice and time to download your data.
Old versions of the app stop working eventually. When a version is no longer supported, the app will ask you to update before you can continue.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using Conscioushood at any time, and delete your account and your data from Settings.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
Our responsibility to you
We provide Conscioushood as it is. We do not promise that the practice will produce any particular result, that the content is suitable for your circumstances, or that the app will run without interruption.
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, since the app is for personal use.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected by anything written here.
If you installed the app from the App Store
These terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple, and we alone are responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim you or anyone else makes about the app, including product liability claims, any claim that it fails to meet a legal requirement, or a claim under consumer protection or privacy law. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
If you installed the app from Google Play, Google's own terms apply to that distribution, and the rest of this agreement is between you and us.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we will update the version number and the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Conscioushood after that means you accept the new terms.
Law and where disputes are heard
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
